The world-renowned author of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling has released her new book The Casual Vacancy in stores worldwide today. This is J.K. Rowling's first book since the Harry Potter series - which in total sold over 100 million books and profited £24 billion at the box office. The 47-year old author described The Casual Vacancy as her 'first novel for adults'. It's set in the quaint town of Pagford and follows a town in crisis after the death of Barry Fairbrother - a parish council member whose death creates the biggest war the town has ever seen. The book is a whole league away from the magical world of Potter, but still holds the magic of J.K. Rowling's storytelling. J.K's book has 512 pages, and is available in hardback (£20), ebook (£11.99) and in audio forms - CDs (£30) and audio downloads (£20). This book has a lot to live up to, of its Potter predecessor, but if Rowling lives up to expectations, it's sure to be a bestseller. The Casual Vacancy is available to purchase in all good bookstores and on Amazon |
