On the 8th January, 2013 the world was shocked when David Bowie released his first single in seven years, also causing excitement with the prospect of a new album. A month later, The Next Day, an album which has been anticipated for ten years, hits the music scene on the 8th March. But causing even more hype in the early hours of this morning, Bowie released another single with accompanying video, starring Oscar nominated actress Tilda Swinton as his wife. The artistic video was directed by Floria Sigismondi, the same genius behind Ellie Goulding's Anything Could Happen video and features androgynous model Andrej Pejic as a young Bowie, and another female model as a 'star'. The Stars (Are Out Tonight) rebirths classic Bowie art rock into the 21st Century, and reminisces the days of Hunky Dory back in the 70s. The album itself is not | available to listen to entirely yet... but Bowie is sure to create a storm, with critics already going mad for more. |
