Heading Out is available on iPlayer, and on DVD from 8th April here | Sue Perkins stars as a head vet who is successful, popular and skilled in all things animal. But, like many others, is struggling to tell her parents that she is gay. The six episode series, which concludes next Tuesday, starts off with Sara (played by Perkins) celebrating her 40th Birthday. But, along with the challenging prospect of coming out, she has to juggle a busty, in-your-face life coach, a clean obsessed friend named Jamie, and Justine, the dumb and childish friend who often just shows up at her place of work unexpectedly. The series reminisces Miranda minus the slapstick, but has all the aspects of a posh comedy. There are even special guests like the goddess of the sitcom herself, Dawn French, the lovely Dot Cotton (June Brown), and Dominic Coleman, who of course appeared in a whole episode of the last series of Miranda. But if that isn't enough to entice you, Miranda has tweeted numerous times of her excitement of the program, and praises Perkins for her wit. |
