Books written 3 (v. good), books sold 15 million (excellent), next book due October 10th (v. brilliant) The hit Bridget Jones book series will return with a third book from author Helen Fielding in October this year. The book titled Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy will be set in the modern day where Bridget, the main protagonist who was introduced as a typical thirtysomething singleton in book one, has aged gracefully and is getting to grips with the 21st Century world. Extracts from the book released by publishing company Picador reveal that Jones will still be knocking back the booze and fags, and will be getting to grips with texting whilst drunk, with poor results, one extract reads; "11.27pm. Just presss d SEND. Iss fineisn't it?... DATING RULE NO. 1. DO NOT TEXT WHEN DRUNK." The novel is long awaited, and many fans suspected that a third book would never be released, but the question that many will ask is whether Renée Zellweger will return to our screens to film the third movie in the series, which were inspired by the novels and made over £540m at the box office. Also in the Jones pipeline is a West End musical starring Sheridan Smith that has been in production since 2009, perhaps the publication of the new book will coincide with the theater release and sweep the nation into a Jones frenzy? In the words of Bridget Jones; "This is an occasion for genuinely tiny knickers" (v. exciting times). |
